History of the Violin

Giuseppe Lucci (1910–1991) was a Roman master luthier, originally from Bagnacavallo. His post-war violins (1950s–80s) follow refined Stradivari/Guarneri models with medium arching, crisp purfling, slender f-holes, and orange-gold to red-brown varnish. Labels typically read “Giuseppe Lucci, Roma” with handwritten year/number. Well-set examples offer quick response, even balance, and strong projection.
