History of the Violin
Georges Coné (b. 1877, Mirecourt; d. after 1950, Lyon) worked in Lyon, succeeded Émile Boulangeot in 1928, and served the Lyon Conservatoire and Philharmonic. He produced a prolific output—principally Stradivari-based models with orange-to-red varnish—often branded or labeled “Georges Coné et Fils,” valued for supple, balanced response.
