The Orofino line is conceived to bridge the gap to concert-level instruments while maintaining disciplined workshop standards—yielding quick response and strong projection—within the Long Island Violin Shop founded by Charles Rufino in Huntington, NY. Rufino trained at the Newark School of Violin Making (England), with further periods of study in the London workshops of J. & A. Beare and W.E. Hill & Sons; later, he continued under V.Y. “Nigo” Nigogosian in New York and worked with Carl Becker in Chicago.
